INTRODUCTION

The department of Conservative dentistry & Endodontics forms the backbone and foundation of clinical dentistry. The ultimate goal of Conservative dentistry is to preserve natural dentition or to restore it to the best state of health, function and esthetics. Endodontics is the branch which deals with the etiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases of pulp & periapical tissues compatible with good health.

ACTIVITIES

  • Undergraduate pre-clinical II BDS training programme includes lectures and exercises on Plaster models, Extracted teeth, Typhodont teeth on phantom heads and Manipulation of various dental cements and Restorative materials required for treatment
  • For the clinical posting in III & IV BDS students are trained to diagnose and to render restorative treatments to restore the teeth to full form, function & appearance in an aesthetically pleasing manner with focus on minimal intervention
  • Esthetic procedures like veneers, diastema closure, bleaching, and lab composite restorations are
  • In Endodontics students are exposed to various procedures like Root canal treatment, Apexification, Surgical endodontics & management of mutilated & traumatized
